I have a few questions regarding the way multiplayer works. I am new to the game and have not completed many matches online, encountering only two different warlocks.
- I'm playing on an iPad 3, logged in through Game Center. I assume I can only play against others on iOS, would creating an account through my email address potentially open up cross-platform play in the future?
- I would appreciate another turn length setting. The low number of players can make it hard to find a 15 minute round match, and a turn length of a day with 3-4 players risks the game dragging out for a week if someone is playing casually. I'd like to be able to start a game with anyone knowing we'll have a conclusion within 8-12 hours max, maybe having an hour to take a turn would work?
- The way the Warlock's score works is not obvious to me, maybe I missed something. Is it a value multiplied by each of the stats at the end of the game? Each kill and summon adds to it?
- Is there any pattern or particular logic in starting placement or spells? On the island map for instance, is the host always in the same corner with the other players starting clockwise in the order they joined? There seems to be a nice mix of differently costed spells every time but the limited amount of non-creature utility casts feels hit-or-miss.
- I think the randomized spell selection as it currently works encourages an aggressive rushing strategy where the best chance of winning is to grab your magic cubes as soon as possible and summon the most expensive creature you have. If you are lucky you summon a Demon adjacent to the enemy warlock and watch as your rival and their mount are crushed. Perhaps this is just an aspect of my limited experience and a different "meta game" will emerge over time. Still, should warlocks have the chance to start with the strongest of summons, or are there other tweaks that could be considered?
I do plan on writing a thread with suggestions, and I hope to contribute what I can to grow the community. I've been having fun and I'm interested in hearing anybody's opinion on multiplayer or anything related to this game.
