An idea for the treasure chests could be to keep it the same but have some of them as exploding chests so it's a risk opening them, it could also be used tactically.

Just a bit more feedback, I just played a game against two heavily handicapped players and found the new balancing made it much more challenging. I had to shift my tactics quite a bit to win. Also "reclaim mana" might be the new killer spell. One can reclaim a strong beast after its action points or health are worn down and then immediately cast another terrible monster at a cost of just 2 mana. Late in the game, this can be deadly.

Interesting to hear. I've held off doing any changes until I get a clearer picture of the balancing. I've been dieing very quickly in the games I've played. Anyone played much with 'The Watcher'? Does it feel reasonably balanced for its cost?

What does the watcher cost? It seems super deadly. It flies right? One problem with flying ranged attack is there isn't much you can do to counter it if you aren't blessed with the right units. An archer with a level 3 enchanted bow and a flying mount was the most fearsome opponent before bows "wore out".

It costs 44 mana. It doesn't fly, it hovers, so it is always vulnerable to land attack. Yes, the flying ranged attacks being so powerful was the main motivation for the balancing change - I hope it is a lot better now.
